Wirkkala Decorative ice platter 260x35mm

The glass ice platter resembles a piece of melting ice floating on water. Designed by Tapio Wirkkala in 1976, this decorative ice platter is a perfect eye-catcher for both decor and serving. This larger-sized ice platter is ideal for creating a memorable dinner, as it can be chilled in the freezer and used to serve sushi or handmade chocolates. It’s also an excellent choice for displaying jewellery or even showcasing your favourite perfumes in the bathroom.

This stunning decorative ice platter is handcrafted by casting molten glass into a mould, which is then spun so that the glass spreads out and takes the shape of the object. The moulds used are the original ones, handcrafted by Tapio Wirkkala himself. Each ice platter is signed with the designer’s initials and the year of manufacture.
